Making sure we eat healthy is always on our minds when tempted by foods that are considered unhealthy. Now there is a way to go for it once in awhile. It is called low carb cooking. Definition of Carbohydrates The three main food groups eaten daily are protein, fats and carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are made up of oxygen, hydrogen and carbon. For every gram of carbohydrate, there is 4 calories. If a persons diet is full of carbohydrates and combined with not much physical exertion it can lead to weight issues. Low Carb Diet The low carb diet was developed by the well known Atkins and South Beach diets but there are numerous types of similar programs to follow these days that it can get overwhelming. To find out what works best for you you should do your own research. Focusing on low carb cooking helps people lose weight because the reduction of carbohydrates in the diet keeps blood insulin low. That raises metabolism so your body can lose the fat it stores. If you add a proper exercise regiment to this diet you would increase the amount of weight loss and you would keep your body healthy. This diet should be something you stay on for a lifetime. If you try to diet for a time frame you will begin to gain weight as soon as you change the amounts of carbohydrates you consume. Don’t forget that an exercise regiment should be part of that lifestyle because it keeps you fit and healthy. The two rules for weight loss The two things to keep in mind for losing and maintaining a fit body are exercise and diet. Make sure the amount of exercise you do is not too much or you might just cause injury to yourself. See a doctor before you start any new diet or exercise to ensure you get what your body needs. It is not a good idea to follow a diet based on another person’s successes without being informed because every body is different and what works on one may not do so for another. |
